Happy 2008: The picture below is from Skating Sisters-

Love’s US LT Vid: Andrew Love made a really good video from the US long track champs- go see US LT Allaround Champs, video to check it out- you’ll see all sorts of great footage including racing action, people standing around watching and cheering, coaches, post race puking?, pre race low walks?, crashes, the lap counter, and the score-board- and all this from many different angles.
Matthias Schwierz: Click here for an article about German speedskater Matthias Schwierz who was recently injured in a long track event.

Skatelog- Corners & Magazine: Here are a couple of threads from Skatelog’s Forum- So if there were this new magazine, what would you name it? and Why can’t I stay stuck in the corners?.
Flyin Brian Entries: Flyin Brian has a couple of entries that you’ll probably enjoy reading- see Back to training, US Long Track Championships Day 4, and US LT Trials Day 3.
Marathon Manager: Have you checked out the Marathon Manager rankings recently? Well, I am proud to say that since I’ve stated paying attention to the game and managing my team, I’ve been slowly but surely climbing up the standings. I am now in 283rd place, closing in on the top 250.

Shave Or Not?: Pixelmech’s entry To Shave, or Not to Shave, That is the Question is a nice little read that raises a good question for many skaters who have not yet shaved their legs.
I raced in sprint canoeing between 1991 and 1993. At a regatta in between races, I was talking with a friend of mine. My friend, who was a cyclist, was answering questions about his masculinity vis-a-vis his leg shaving habits. He said ‘I don’t need hair to assert my masculinity. As long as I have hair in my heart, that’s what matters‘.
Quote Of The Day: ‘I don’t need hair to assert my masculinity. As long as I have hair in my heart, that’s what matters‘- Marc Campbell- Mississauga- June 1993

Loved Love’s LT vid. and sound track! As to hair or not to hair, remember what they say. Hair today, gone tomorrow. Hairline, unlike inline, is very over rated.
