AmCup Finale: You can find results from the AmCup Finale from Salt Lake City here and here.

Fido CommercialCheck out the recently discussed TV commerical for Fido (the cellular carrier that I’ve been using since 2002) that features a ’skater’ wearing Bont skates.

REL Upcoming Events: Roller En Ligne has a couple of event previews; one is for the Challenge International des 3 Pistes that I mentionned on Thursday. The other preview is for the European Cadet & Junior Championships that are taking place this July in Denmark.

EGC Skates: EGC Skates is alive and kickcing; the company wrote on their site ‘If you’ve been waiting for an update, your wait will be over soon.  My first article on EGC2008’s will be coming shortly.  I’ve got local skaters lined up and I’ll report back on the success (or failure) of my all new designs‘.

Hegarty’s Challenge: Andrew Hegarty’s website is back up- this time with a redesign to boot. Andrew Hegarty put up an update on the challenge- see The Challenge - Final Update for more.

World Inline Cup Previews: The World Cup Topics for 2008 topic is heating up- Bill Begg is discussing the men’s previews- you’ll be able to read about the Colombian men, the Dutch teams, and the New Zealand skaters.

RRC’s Moment: There is an interesting (as usual) entry on Road Rash Chronicles- this one’s called My Dr. Phil / Oprah moment.. I think his advice is worth putting up here; ‘If you are new to this sport and you are unsure about what to do, how to train or what to buy, talk to people.  Find someone whom you want to skate like, or with whom you share a common skill level and ask for their advice…‘.

Defi Record Correction: In the Defi De L’Ile De Montreal Report- Including Video & Photos, I reported that I set the record for the event- I was just informed that in fact, the record is 4:51 and was set in 2003, and that makes my 2007 time the 7th fastest.

PC Argentina & Chile: Patin Carrera has a couple of reports from South American racing- check out the Copa FPP PatinCarrera.com report with photos and check out a report from this season’s first Chilean National Selection race.

  1. Peter, I was trying to understand this when the all-time Defi results page says you set the record. But then I went to the 2003 results. They indicate that Mehdi Cherif did it in 5:06, but say in a footnote that the leaders were delayed 15 minutes by the Pointe-Claire police. Of course, the footnotes also say that there wasn’t a headwind on the fifth and final stage!
