I am leaving for France today. Morgane Echardour and I fly out this evening. We’ll spend a few days in Paris and then we’ll head up to Nantes. We’ll return to Canada in mid-September after the World Roller Speed Skating Championships.
I don’t expect that I’ll be regularly updating Speed Skate World until at least the weekend. I not quite sure how Speed Skate World’s content and approach will change while I am in Europe. I’ll decide on the fly.
This is a good training, racing, and learning opportunity for me. I can’t promise top results, but I can certainly say that I’ll be putting up my best efforts to skate fast, well, and strategically sound.
I am really excited to be going over and to see what I can do. I’ll do my best to keep in touch via SSW, MSN, and Facebook.
Thank you to everyone who supported me through friendship, training, donations, and well wishes.
Just for fun, here’s a picture of my nephew, Sebastien swarmed by chickens-

Bon voyage à toi et à Morgane… le vol risque d’être long pour elle après la chute de ce w-e…
Amusez-vous bien !

Good luck and live your dream, bro! Watch out for the Euro vs the Canadian dollar…OUCH! $10 mocha in Starbucks!
Let your instincts guide you in the races, don’t think (it confuses things), just feel and react. Take the impossible chances, think of being adrift in the ocean, and they throw the life ring to you but its 30 meters short….. do you give up? or do you get to the ring, no matter what the pain level you have to endure…
I know you will have a summer to remember, it’s not the placements, its the willingness to risk it all, braving the unknown, willing to succeed or fail, but giving it your all.
God speed,
jonathan
Good luck you two. What a great experience. And on the positive side for those you are leaving behind….at least we have a chance at winning something for once.
