After speedskater Heather Richardson clinched the World Sprint Championships title after winning the 1,000-meter race Sunday, one of the first fans to check in was none other than Bonnie Blair, the most decorated woman in U.S. Winter Olympic history.

Blair sent Richardson a congratulatory email and apologized for not being at the Utah Olympic Oval to witness the moment. (Blair had a good excuse: She was at her daughter’s gymnastics meet.)
