Here are a few reports and thoughts from this weekend’s long track speed skating World Cup, being held in Hamar, Norway;
On the first day of the World Cup in Hamar Lucas not only skated his fastest 1500m ever, but with this time he also managed to claim the silver medal in this distance! Skating in the 7th pair against Remco Olde Heuvel, Lucas needed 1:45.40 to complete his race, which was a great improvement of his old personal best (1:45.63). The only skater faster was 1500m gold-medalist in Berlin and Heerenveen, Shani Davis (1:44.27). Today’s silver medal represents Lucas’ first individual World Cup medal.
today i race the 1500m, 1M49etc….not so good. i could n t skate normally cause i have a little pain in my back and i couldn t find what it was. my straight line was terrible, i couldn t put my hips over my skate…i was super stiff.
in the evening i could see a phisio that helped me super nicely for this. he find out that my right hip was blocked and that my left hip was rotating the wrong direction when i bend in front…
