July 21st 2010- Quick Results & Report- Canadian Marathon

The RSC National Marathon was held earlier today at Calgary’s Race City Speedway. With blue skies, cool temperatures, and windy conditions, skaters from Calgary, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and the USA laced up for the race.

In the women’s marathon, Sarah Hopkins took the win on the women’s side, with Morgane Echardour suffering foot pains placing 2nd, and Calgary’s Leah Kaluta placing 3rd.

In the men’s marathon, Stephane Tremblay rolled away in the early laps of the race, taking advantage of a confused pack, and skated a gutsy race on his way to the victory with a impressive final lead of about 1 1/2 minutes over 2nd place. In the sprint for 2nd, it was Calgary’s Alex D’mello claiming 2nd and USA’s Josh Wood placing 3rd. Jade Pauley finished about 1-wheel behind Wood.
